Sheila Halse, Publicity Manager
I thought I'd tell you about my first time on stage.
One summer, when my family were staying at a holiday camp near Clacton (yes, I'm an Essex girl) I would potter off to what it was assumed
was the children's play centre. It was only when other holiday makers started to recognise me that my family found out that I had actually
been entering the heats and final of the weekly talent show singing 'I Aint Half Proud of My Old Mum'.
I'd love to report that I beat all the grownups in the final, but I still won a prize (probably for sheer nerve) and started an enduring
love of theatre.
I was about four years old.
