Shafted tells the history of the thirty years after the 1984 miners’ strike through the lives of one Yorkshire couple – ex-miner Harry and his wife Dot. With the strike ended and the closure of the pits life changed for so many couples. Their story of lost work and shattered communities is told through a quick fire run of hilarious scenes full of Yorkshire grit and honesty.

René Artois runs a small café in France during the Second World War, where resistance fighters, Gestapo men, German Army Officers and Allied POWs are regular visitors.
