Location – Rotherham Civic Theatre
Something wicked this way comes…
Rotherham Rep reimagines Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy in a gripping dystopian future, where ambition is absolute, power is perilous, and fate is inescapable.
In a brutal world teetering on the edge of collapse, a battle-hardened soldier encounters three otherworldly figures who foretell his rise to power. Consumed by ambition and spurred on by his ruthless wife, Macbeth embarks on a murderous path to the throne, but every crown comes at a cost.
This bold and visceral new production throws the Bard’s timeless themes of greed, guilt, and prophecy into a fractured future where morality is blurred, and trust is dangerous.
With atmospheric design, striking visuals, and a haunting original soundscape, Macbeth promises a powerful theatrical experience that will stay with you long after the curtain falls.
